For 45 years, The Dive Shop has been introducing new divers to the underwater world, and there’s never been a better time to join the adventure. Whether you’ve always dreamed of exploring coral reefs, swimming alongside marine life, or simply trying something new, this is your chance.

Scuba diving is all about sharing the adventure with a buddy, and now when you purchase a PADI Open Water class, you’ll receive a second class for your buddy FREE — a $124 value! Students need to purchase their own PADI educational materials.

Open Water

As a certified PADI Open Water Diver, the most widely recognized and respected rating in the world, you have the freedom to dive with a buddy independent of a professional to a maximum depth of 60ft. If you already tried a PADI Discover Scuba Diving experience or are PADI Scuba Diver certified, check with your instructor to see how credit from these courses may apply to the open water program.

The 3-Step Process to PADI Certification

Steps 1 & 2

Knowledge Development & Confined Water Skill Development (pool)

Option 1: PADI ELearning: Knowledge development is completed online via computer or a touch device, with a written review-exam, as well as skill development in the pool. This choice provides knowledge development at your own pace and schedule.

Option 2: PADI OW Manual: Knowledge development is completed using the PADI Open Water Manual, with a written final exam, as well as skill development in the pool. This choice provides knowledge development in person with interaction and feedback from an instructor.

Step 3

Open Water Practicum

Step 3 requires 4 Open Water dives to complete the certification.

*The Open Water portion must be completed within 1 year of starting the knowledge development or additional review will be required prior to completing the certification.
