About Me: Salvador “Sal” Servin is a PADI Divemaster from Tucson, Arizona, with a passion for exploring the underwater world and sharing the experience of scuba diving with others. Having logged well over 100 dives, Sal primarily dives in the waters of San Carlos, while also exploring other destinations.
Sal is especially drawn to wreck diving and the adventure of traveling to new underwater environments. For him, diving combines exploration, learning, and a deep appreciation for marine ecosystems. When he is not underwater, Sal works in procurement for the City of Tucson, where he supports public service in his hometown of Tucson, where he has lived his entire life.
Through diving, Sal enjoys connecting with fellow divers, discovering new dive sites, and continuing to grow within the global scuba community.
Favorite Dive Destination: As of today, my favorite place to dive is Key West. The waters surrounding the island offer an incredible combination of vibrant coral reefs, historic shipwrecks, and a diving culture that creates a welcoming atmosphere for divers from around the world. The area is part of the renowned Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary, which helps protect its diverse marine ecosystems and makes every dive feel unique.
What draws me most to Key West is the opportunity for wrecks and very deep dives. Exploring artificial reefs and sunken vessels adds a sense of history and adventure beneath the surface, while the surrounding reef systems provide abundant marine life and beautiful underwater scenery. The combination of great diving conditions, fascinating wrecks, and the laid back island environment makes Key West my favorite dive destination as of right now.
