Divemaster

Year of Professional Certification: 2024

PADI Level: Divemaster

About Me: I grew up in Orlando, Florida which significantly shaped my love of all things oceanic and I knew from a young age I wanted a career in Marine Biology. I got certified as a PADI Open Water scuba diver in high school, but it wasn't until I became actively involved in research on coral reproduction during my Master's degree that I was diving frequently. That was when I got my PADI AOW and Rescue certifications that were necessary to be a scientific diver. I moved to Tucson from Florida 3.5 years ago with my now husband to begin my PhD in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology at the University of Arizona. Through my PhD work, I conduct research on coral symbiosis and reef resilience to climate change. If I'm not working, you can usually find me hiking, reading, crocheting, cooking (or eating), playing video games, or at a concert, but my happy place is underwater. I look forward to sharing my love of the ocean, it's animals, and the incredible sport of diving with you!
